Hi Lisa, I haven’t tried it that way, and it might become hard and dry on the exterior and be undercooked in the middle. I would have to experiment with it to create a sliceable loaf. If you try, please share how it turns out!

hooray!!! A new cookbook and really great new recipes for me to try! I don’t get around much anymore [86 yrs of age] and am working on living longer and have managed to get back to my favorite passtime-cooking. Your recipes look very wholesome and sensible and I do love a plant based diet to live by. especially I love cooking with beans and grains and using spices to enhance the benefits available. so thanks again, now I must go and order your cookbook.

Hi Steve, yes the flour will help it bind. I would mix it in now.

But I just realized I left out the flour. I haven’t shaped the rest into burgers–I only did one tonight. If I mixed in the flour now with the remaining would that help firm up the rest, or is the more to hold the ingredients together? Thanks!

Although I cooked it in a pan so baking them might help; will try that with the remaining, since I only made one. The flavor was excellent! And you could easily sub the chili powder and cumin for other flavor profiles like Indian or Mediterranean I think. They’re also easy to put together which is nice!

Hi Aarit, I would need to test and adjust this recipe for a chickpea burger.
