You do understand that some people MUST choose alternative milks, correct? Some people also can only tolerate/digest specific alternative milks due to health/allergy issues. Pistachios may be an expensive nut, but the last time I checked, it’s still cheaper to make this at home. Teaching people a way to do it at home AND save money by doing so, is exactly what’s needed in this economy. Maybe choose kindness next time.

Not only was there very little pulp, I had literally no pulp whatsoever. I followed the recipe for the blending part (two equal batches of water, the first time blending on high for 2 minutes, the second time on med-high for 1 minute). It worked out great, perfectly smooth and creamy and was so easy. Thank you for the inspiration!

HI Kundu, I’m glad you enjoyed it! Did you use a double strainer or cheesecloth? It shouldn’t have much waste compared to other nut milks.

Perfect, thanks! I am in Nevada and we have Sprouts so I will check there.

Hi Lisa, I find raw, unsalted, shelled pistachios at my local Sprouts and my local international grocery store and you can typically find them in a natural foods grocery store or any place that sells dry goods in bulk. They carry them at Kroger brand stores under the Simple Truth label. Whole Foods stocks them. You can also find them at online stores like Nuts.com. What part of the country are you in?

What happened to this blog?? It used to have actual meal recipes. This site has gone seriously downhill the past year or two. Laziness?

And I am making my own nuts milk all the time; pistachio slipped from my attention. Thank you, Kate, to bring it in!
while start trying all different blenders, I end up with N&E nut blender. It has many options for soaking and delays and temperature. I made pistachio milk the way I made walnut or pecans milk. I soaked in a warm water for 1 hour and it blends perfectly. I didn’t add any suggested sweeteners, but vanilla only. It was delicious. Thank you, Kate!
P.S I am your long-time follower; perfect granola is my favorite recipe along with many others. Don’t stop!

I’m wondering if I did something wrong.

Hi Sandra, the recipe specifies one cup nuts to four cups water.
