I made a double batch and froze it for healthy, protein-packed, easy food for post surgery healing. Plus jarred some for my ride as a thank you. It really hit the spot and is so delicious. I didn’t have enough dried cranberries so I chopped up some dates to make up the difference. Highly recommend!

I had been making a lovely granola recipe for a few years but felt I wanted something less sweet, and along came this recipe. Perfect!

Hi Louise, thanks for pointing that out! I’m including the hemp hearts in the “nuts and seeds” category. So if you swap out any of the nuts or hemp hearts for different varieties, just keep it at 2 1/2 cups total.

I’ve been making this muesli for close to a year now – I love it.

I just read the post notes again where it says that you can change up the nuts and/or seeds. However, the post states that you’ll need approximately 2 1/2 cups total but the recipe calls for 1 cup of slivered almonds and 1/2 cup of pepitas. Should it be 2 1/2 cups or 1 1/2 cups of nuts and or seeds.
Thank you.

Thank you Kate!

I went ahead and made it and unfortunately went with the longer baking time. :(

But fortunately my husband is very appreciative of everything I make! He’s happy with this ‘well done’ batch, and he’ll be so much happier with the next batch!

thanks again!

Hi Amy, the total bake time is 13-15 minutes, so toss after about 7 or 8 minutes.

You say: bake until the oats and coconut flakes are lightly golden and fragrant, tossing halfway, about 13 to 15 minutes.

Is that bake for 13-15 min, stirring halfway? Or bake, stirring halfway at 13-15 min?

I’m not clear on total bake time!
Thanks for all of your great recipes. I always search your site first!
Amy

I will always make this- I’ve bought store bought in the best- not anymore- I tailored it to my liking- almonds, walnuts, dried cherries, unsweetened coconuts, dates, flax, chia, hemp seeds-local maple syrup- a bit of local maple syrup.. The recipe was clear and easy to follow. A keeper for sure- the flavor and freshness was perfect

In answer to an earlier question, I used sprouted oats and the result is fantastic!

Wholesome, nutritious, fresh-tasting. It is said that we don’t chew our food as much as we need to because food isn’t as chewy as it was long ago due mainly to cooking and processing. Chewing chewy food is so good for digestion, and this muesli is chewy. Perfect!
